For employers
Learnerships that build your talent pipeline — and your scorecard
We run accredited learnerships aligned to QCTO occupational qualifications from start to finish, so your people gain real qualifications while your organisation meets its skills development goals.
What is a learnership?
Structured learning plus real workplace experience
A learnership is a workplace-based programme that combines structured learning with practical, on-the-job experience and leads to a registered qualification. Under the QCTO framework, learnerships are being aligned to occupational qualifications made up of knowledge, practical and workplace modules, with an external integrated summative assessment (EISA) at the end.

Why employers use learnerships
- B-BBEE Skills Development — accredited learnerships count towards the Skills Development element of your scorecard.
- Tax incentive — registered learnerships may qualify for the Section 12H learnership allowance; confirm current rules with your tax adviser.
- SETA grants — qualifying employers may access discretionary grant funding.
- Talent pipeline — learners become productive team members you can absorb when they qualify.

Employer questions
Can you train our staff at our premises?
Yes. We deliver on-site anywhere in South Africa, at our Germiston facility, or live online. Programmes can be customised to your policies, systems and operating context.
Do your programmes count towards B-BBEE skills development?
Accredited learnerships and skills programmes can contribute to the Skills Development element of the B-BBEE scorecard. We provide the learner records, attendance and results evidence your verification agency will ask for.
Can you manage a learnership for us from start to finish?
Yes — learner recruitment and selection, registration, delivery, workplace component coordination, assessment, moderation, QCTO submissions and progress reporting.
How do we see our employees’ progress?
Through regular reports and, where agreed, access to cohort progress, attendance and assessment status on the Tonex Learning Portal.
Tell us what you need. We’ll build the programme around it.
